In partnership with the California Latino Leadership Institute, California State Senator Janet Nguyen is proud to invite residents to the Third Annual Tri-County Women’s Empowerment Summit. The event, which will take place on Saturday, September 16th at Fullerton College from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, seeks to help women ages 18 and up gain knowledge about the status of women in the workforce, learn about current trends impacting the success of women, share resources, and network regionally with other women. The cost to attend the summit is $10 per person, scholarship opportunities are available.
“At the Tri-County Women’s Empowerment Summit, lives are changed,” said Senator Janet Nguyen. “As one of nine female Senators representing California’s more than 39 million residents, I know first-hand the challenges that women in leadership face, that is why I am more than proud to have been a part of this Women’s Empowerment Summit for the last three years.”
During the 6-hour program, attendees will learn about preparing California women to live longer and thrive financially. Additional workshops will discuss Latinas at Work in Service, and professional and career development. The Summit’s one-day program is broken into morning, lunch and afternoon sessions and expects to welcome 100 attendees. While the focus of the Summit will be on matters impacting Latino women, all are welcome.
“Since 2015, I have had the privilege of being a part of this Summit and have seen first-hand the cross section of women that this event attracts, from high school and college students to business owners and nonprofit leaders,” said Senator Janet Nguyen. “I commend the California Latino Leadership Institute for hosting this important dialogue that promotes and strengthens our collective history as women.”
In addition to serving as Honorary Summit Co-Chair of this Empowerment Summit, Senator Nguyen also serves on the Senate Select Committee on Women, Work and Families which explores policies and raises awareness about the crucial role that women play in society as primary caretakers, earners and leaders.
