Acts of KindnessInspired by the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Orange County, Senator Janet Nguyen authored a resolution designating the month of July 2015 as "Kindness Month" in the State of California.

To celebrate this resolution and promote kindness, Senator Nguyen launched #KindCalifornia on August 2, 2015 in collaboration with the Orange County Food Bank and local community partners.

The Acts of Kindness campaign aims to spark a statewide initiative that promotes the selflessness and encourages compassion among all Californians by asking individuals to perform one or more random acts of kindness.

There are several ways you can contribute to help make California a kinder place for all:

  • Pledge an Act of Kindness: Share your pledge to perform at least one act of kindness. It can be as simple as doing chores around the house or as elaborate as sponsoring a child in need.
  • Share Your Kindness Story: Have you recently performed an act of kindness? Then we want to hear from you. Your story will be shared to help inspire others to perform their own act of kindness.
  • Become a Kindness Ambassador: Want to become more involved in your community? Sign up today to hear about the latest volunteer opportunities in your local area and help spread the message of kindness to your neighbors!
